At General Plastic Industries we offer over 100+ designs of PET bottles and jars made from PET. These are mostly used in the FMCG, Food, and Beverages, Liquor, Confectionery, Oil, Ghee, and for many more other Packaging Purposes. They come in different shapes, sizes, colors, and neck widths. But, why do we use PET for packaging?
Let’s start at the beginning. PET stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate, which is a strong synthetic fiber and resin. As a member of the polyester polymer family, PET preforms can be blow-molded to make PET bottles and jars, spun into fabric, and extruded into photographic film. As far as plastics go, PET is kind of a jack of all trades.
PET bottles are very strong, colorless and lightweight. PET is transparent and it allows the content of the container to remain visible. The strength and lightweight of PET is very important for liquids such as carbonated beverages since it makes the bottles safe for on-the-go or sports use. With its excellent material properties, It is one of the most suitable materials for the packaging of natural mineral and spring water.
Some of its most important properties include its resistance to water, its high strength to weight ratio and the fact that it is virtually shatterproof.
Certainly, there will always be a need for glass, but for many industrial and consumer markets, PET is becoming the material of choice.

Over the past 15 years, a strong effort has been made by General Plastic Industries to reduce the weight of PET bottles. It has been reduced and today a 1.5L bottle can weigh as little as 20 to 30 grams. This reduction in weight allowed it to become a more desirable, inexpensive packaging option. So, we believe General Plastic Industries should be your One and Only Packaging Partner In the Market.
